NAD+ (Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide) is a coenzyme found in all living cells. It plays a crucial role in the metabolism of cells by carrying electrons from one enzyme to another during the process of cellular respiration, which generates energy for the cell. NAD+ is also involved in DNA repair and other important cellular processes. NAD+ levels decline with age and some studies have suggested that supplementing with NAD+ precursors such as nicotinamide riboside (NR) or nicotinamide mononucleotide (NMN) may have potential benefits such as improving cellular function and increasing energy production, however, more research is needed to confirm these potential benefits and to determine the appropriate dosage.
